Building 2 Way SB Acoustic Speakers (Part 1) Using SB16PFC25-08 & SB19ST-C000-4

I had a planned since few months ago to build a new speaker for my stereo system.

This new speakers will replacing my current one here. The reason for this is because I want a speakers that can deliver wider audio frequency range and not only focusing on mid range like in the single driver full range speakers.

This project is very interesting because all of the driver are local made. I am using the SB Acoustic drivers which they are very well known speakers driver worldwide.

So here it is, all the drivers package that arrived yesterday.

The tweeter is SB19ST-C000-4

And the woofer is SB16PFC25-08

The tweeter impedance is 4 ohm and diameter for the voice coil is 3/4 inch.

The built quality for this driver is very good.

Mind the detail on the surround plastic that will attach to the box is covered with foam as the driver damping. Nice.

The woofer impedance is 8 ohm and the diameter is 6,5 inch.

The cone is made from paper and the surround suspension is made from rubber.

The basket is made from hard ABS plastic.

The design of this woofer is common, just like most of any driver in this price range. Nothing special here.

One of the uniqueness of this SB Acoustic driver is on the magnet shape that looks like a pyramid.

That is all for the drivers and for the next parts will be focusing on the crossover network, which in my opinion, this is the most difficult when building a speakers.
