I need to find a replacement of my CD player soon. In this year, the first model of Sony Playstation SCPH-1002 is celebrating the 20 years old. This game console is become my CD player for a quite long time. The reason is simply because the sound quality using this Sony Playstation as a CD player is outstanding. As time goes, the problem occurs especially for the CD optical and mechanism, resulting poor CD reading and skipping all the time. It is almost impossible to obtain new-old-stock optical replacement unit consider to it's ages. So right now I am thinking to replace this Sony Playstation as to the unit that more available in the market today. So I pick this used DVD player from Pioneer that I will use it as the CD player in my audio system.

This headphone amplifier project started when my colleague offered me a candy. It is actually a candy inside a tin. Well, I asked politely if I can take the tin instead of the candy. This quite awkward and she is confused why I am asking for it, but she give it to me anyway. So let's this project begin.

I you following the discussion online, there are many endless debate about sound quality improvement from one capacitors to another. Some of them did a comparison between certain branded capacitors, which in my opinion, the result are very subjective. To make this comparison more crowded, so in this post will I adding another capacitor comparison.  Previously I did a capacitor upgrade on the Pioneer KEH-P9750 head unit using Elna Silmic capacitor for the signal path only. I will take this opportunity to compare between the Elna Silmic II and the Elna Cerafine. Both capacitor are produced by the same company. I believe the result would be more objective.
