Indonesia Hi-end Audio Show IHEAC 2017

This 2017 Indonesia High End Audio show is having almost the same concept from last year. Some of the brands participants are already familiar with me. There are also new comers in this IHEAC 2017 show. During my visit, I could not entering all room because of the crowd. This is a good indication that audio show like this still attract many people to visit.

The first room that I entered is pre-owned audio shop. They offering many audio brands in used but mostly very good condition. This is very interesting because in this show, the participants like this will give you more option to choose between brand new audio or used fully break-in audio system like this. I listen few audio system in this room and with those many reputable brand mixed in one system, no wonder the sound is sweet.

In this room has something interesting. This little wooden block on the top of the floor-standing speaker paid my attention. Not sure what function is it, maybe some sort of audio magic that add the sweetness in sound. Perhaps.

The system played in this room consist of Esoteric as a digital player, Jeff Rowland pre-amplifier and amplifier.

Next room is the Audio Note distributor participating in this IHEAC 2017. I remember last year, the Audio Note sound terrible due to wrong room setup, I guess. Let's see what will they bring this year.

The door is still open for me:)

Very minimalist presentation, very nice setup, and the sound is beautiful just like an Audio Note supposed to be. I spent quite a lot of time in this room.

An outstanding sound from Audio Note! It even not the highest level Audio Note audio system.

The other Audio Note line up is the small version audio system suitable for small office or bed room. During my visit, they not played any music from this small system, but I believe the sound signature would be the same with its big brother.

The audio show like this would not complete without CD's and LP's seller. They should be always attend to the audio show!

The speakers for testing the CD's you bought is using Focal bookshelf.

The next room is the McIntosh & Sonus Faber, what a sweet combination.

Although the audio system are mostly from McIntosh, but for the speakers, they are using this very nice Sonus Faber Serafino floor-standing speaker. This setup sound very dynamic, fast and engaging.

Looking the green light meter, you will know the McIntosh style amplifier is not only good in sound, but also good in eyes.

The next room is showing audio setup using Focal speakers & QED cables.

What I know about the QED cables is having the most variate range in their cables line-up from the affordable up to the hi-end.

This is still my dream speakers until now. The Focal Utopia. If I had it right now, I have no idea what amplifier I should drive them:)

I am going to the next room that also fill up with pre-owned audio gear. This big speaker from Altec get my attention. Unfortunately the music not playing with that speaker at that moment.

Unique power amplifier and sadly not connected to the system as well.

Is it Topping D20 for sale on top of the MBL?

In next room, you can also choose many discount product especially for turn-table. It is very tempting for LP enthusiasts.

Going to the next room, I find a unique CD player. No clue what is the brand by the way.

The use unique speakers as well.

And unique big power amp!

The presentation of this system is very powerful, bass shaking, and detail. The music deliver very nice without distortion and the beats very enjoyable.

The same exhibitor from last year is the local brand with hand-made speakers. They are now bring the new setup for this show. The sound from that system is really nice.

Very big horn speakers and all hand made. Kuddos!

The amplifier in this setup using DIY class A amplifier.

All hand-made.

Including the speaker drivers.

They also offer many vacuum tube for sale.

Going to the next room is all about headphones.

I have a chance to try one of the very expensive headphones on the market, the Audenze!

Pair with the most expensive DAP on the market as well, the Astell & Kern AK380. They sound amazing.

The connection between them is using the expensive Crystal Cable. The smoothness Norah Jones voice and music presentation are very very sweet, yet detail. This audio system let me feel her emotion right in your head.

Actually there are many exhibitor from popular consumer audio brand, but lets just skip them anyway since I only looking for hi end stereo system.

Many local brand are very consistent join to this show. This SB Acoustic is one of them. They offer wide range variety of speakers driver. I want to build one someday.

Their main display are using the bookshelf and floor-standing speakers.

The cable connection are using Vermouth, also a local brand. Proud of you guys.

On the next room, is Vermouth exhibitor which specialized in cables and connector. They also offer speaker for sale. All brand-new and local brand.

Nice looking speaker with great build quality.

The next room is the Dynaudio distributor.

The sound are great, but I am not sure what are they try to offer. They using car power amp to drive their floor-standing Dynaudio speakers.

This is also a great DAC from Chord Dave as the audio source. Not sure for the price, but I am pretty sure it is expensive.

The alien style CD player.

The exhibitor for home cinema audio system also come this year. I just skipped them. Sorry.

There is another room of SB Acoustic separate from the previous one. They display tiny speaker but with wonderful sound.

Small and elegant and I think I should have one.

This is the new comer. A Germany brand directly from Singapore distributor also attend in this show.

They sound good and so natural.

Going on the next room, there is the king of the show! And this distributor always present in this event every year but with different audio setups. Mostly they are display a very big audio system.

The Cessaro speakers system is their main attraction.

Sound amazing, but quite bright for me.

Another room, another king of the show. This is Opera Speaker and Unison amplifier.

The big speaker are being played. They are marvelous sound with very good timing and music presentation.

After enjoying several music, they change the speakers to the little one.

Quite surprise that the sound signature remain the same with amazing clarity and imaging. Based on the distributor representative explanation, the room are still too small for the big one but very fit to the small one.

That's all for this audio show. Overall show presentation are very nice and neat. I am enjoying every little minute entering every room, just like a kid opening a birthday present:)

This op-amps comparison topic is actually boring, but at the same time, many of us still curious about what others think about it. The reason is simply because of the op-amps variation are hundreds and they are depends by the implementation. Vintage Multibit R2R DAC Tier List

At the very beginning of this year, I committed to explore the best multi-bit R2R DAC. This is simply because I have plenty of the resources (from broken old unit CD player of course) and ability to build them up. If you think this kind a recycle from old un-used unit to become something useful, than I should stated myself giving contribute for greener world:) After all DAC that I built in this year, I think it is better for me to list them up again in one single page like this. Then I will rank them up in a simple tier list. The reason for this, so you all know what my opinion about of those vintage multibit R2R DAC especially in the sound quality.

TDA1543 DAC Review In 2021

It is a fine day and as usual I am reading and searching online contents related to almost anything I like. During my search, I stop to the few online forum discuss about a simple DAC using TDA1543 DAC IC. The discussion about this DAC was about 3 years ago, and the latest was about a year ago. Quite new and overall discussion about this DAC sound quality mostly are positive. It is interesting topic anyway especially I was built this TDA1543 DAC long time ago in 2016. At that time, I combine this DAC with Tripath amplifier  here  and  here  before it sold in 2019. That is also my first DIY DAC and I am quite enjoyed this DAC so much, at that time. The background story about this, previously I was using Sony Playstation SCPH-1002 as my reference CD Player. The reason I moved to this TDA1543 DAC is because the CD optic inside the Playstation is wear out and I cannot find the replacement for it. I pretty remember the sound quality of this TDA1543 DAC is quite comparable...
