Modification & Upgrade Head Unit Pioneer KEH-P9750

This old car head unit, the Pioneer KEH-P9750 is my car audio head unit for quite some time. This was my dream head unit since I am into this car audio. I am lucky to have one, in this great condition like this.

The reason why this Pioneer KEH-P9750 is amazing, is because it has the advanced audio setting features that other brand doesn't have at all. I was using this head unit as external DSP receiver and you can check the post here. In this post, I will open up this head unit and let's see what I can do to make it better.

DIY LM1875 Gainclone Amplifier (Part 4) The Amplifier Section

This is my first post that showing the steps of making this Gainclone amplifier by point-to-point connection between components. The inspiration to making the amplifier like this is when I saw the internal of the vacuum tube amplifier. I just thinking why I cannot do the same with the solid-state amplifier?

So here it is, the building process of the amplifier section by point-to-point connection.

DIY LM1875 Gainclone Amplifier (Part 3) The Power Supply Section

Continue from the previous post, which I prepare for the amplifier casing taken from my old project, then the next step is assembly all amplifier components inside the casing. This is because I am not using any PCB at all. Connection between components will be point-to-point connection. I will start from the power supply section first.

DIY LM1875 Gainclone Amplifier (Part 2) The Amplifier Casing

Continue from the first part of this Gainclone amplifier built, I can say that my previous amplifier built  mostly using very thick aluminum casing. It is cosmetically better, non-magnetic material and feel really solid. But one thing should consider is the cost. The most expensive parts when building any audio project, especially like this Gainclone amplifier is the casing itself.

So, I am trying to cut some cost in this Gainclone amplifier project. I will not using the aluminum casing, instead I will using a commercial available steel casing. Using steel material for casing is far cheaper. The ground plane in steel casing for the amplifier is somehow can be better compares to the aluminum casing. So here is the amplifier casing that I will using in this project.

DIY LM1875 Gainclone Amplifier (Part 1) The Components List

Building Gainclone amplifier is become most popular amplifier project for do it yourself like me because it is affordable to build with exceptional sound quality.

Like myself, I have build several Gainclone amplifier previously and each of them are built with different variation and different type of the components inside. The result each of those built are amazing.

Right now I will build another one. This time I will using the components that I really familiar with, mostly the audio grade components, but still affordable. So let's get started.
