Apple Component AV Cable In 2020?

I still owned several iPod model and they are become my audio portable since 2 decades ago. Those iPod sounds very good considerably to today standard. Just plug the 30 pin to audio line out adapter to the amplifier and it sound at it is optimum performance. Just in case you forget, about 10 years ago, iPod and DIY Cmoy amplifier become very popular among portable audiophile for on the go setup. Sadly most of the 30 pins to audio line out adapter is only provided by third party manufacture. The best one that I can recommend is from Fiio. At that time, Fiio released several model 30 pin to line out adapter but none of those Fiio adapter product are still available right now. I still have one and it still working flawlessly until now. So if you want to find the same function as Fiio audio line out adapter but better, then go through this Apple original product. This is component AV cable made by Apple for iPod accessories back then.

This Apple Component AV Cable sells at it's first launch is about US$50. Very expensive in my opinion. I have one at that time, but not like this one.  I remember it is Apple 3.5 mm mini jack to AV cable. The downside from the mini jack is the audio out is not a true audio line out. Different with the one I bought right now is have true audio line out since it taken from the 30 pin connector. The other function since the components video cable you can ignore is the USB for sync and charge function. My OEM 30 pin to USB connector comes from the bundled iPod purchased is already old and sometimes it is not working properly when syncing to PC. The original replacement is quite rare today since newer Apple product doesn't using this connector instead of lightning cable, so this AV cable is the solution.

I bought 2 Component AV Cable for total US$10. It is very chap since all of them is in brand new, new old stock condition. The reason for this, perhaps one day I will modify one of them to become audio line out cable only and keep the other as it is.

The box is factory sealed. Inside it you can find the warranty and guide booklet. The clear instruction telling about the function of this cable and how you connect this cable as an AV output.

It is really a breathtaking experience when opening this package. Even this is an old product but you got the feeling on how good quality of the Apple product is.

Thick cable and good quality RCA connector you got for this kind of price is priceless. I guess this product are still available around. You can find one if you are search for it. At this moment no matter I will use it or not, for sure this component AV cable will very useful as a parts for future audio project.

OPA1622 Vs. OPA627 High Performance Op-amps Comparison

This op-amps comparison topic is actually boring, but at the same time, many of us still curious about what others think about it. The reason is simply because of the op-amps variation are hundreds and they are depends by the implementation. The op-amps are considerably cheap and an interchangeable electronic components but they are not built for the same function. So in this discussion, I will focus on the modern Vs. vintage high performance op-amps in the simple non-inverting pre-amplifier gain stage.

Vintage Multibit R2R DAC Tier List

At the very beginning of this year, I committed to explore the best multi-bit R2R DAC. This is simply because I have plenty of the resources (from broken old unit CD player of course) and ability to build them up. If you think this kind a recycle from old un-used unit to become something useful, than I should stated myself giving contribute for greener world:) After all DAC that I built in this year, I think it is better for me to list them up again in one single page like this. Then I will rank them up in a simple tier list. The reason for this, so you all know what my opinion about of those vintage multibit R2R DAC especially in the sound quality.

PCM56 R2R Non Oversampling DAC Built

From early this year, I am start to playing a lot with the multibit DAC. They are from Sony CDP TDA1541A here , Nakamichi DAC-101 dual TDA1541S1 here , Clarion DRX-9255EXL PCM1702 here  and Clarion HX-D1 PCM1704 here . What I said playing with them is actually more suitable words because none of them are built by myself. I only study and exploring those unit then make some upgrade especially on the power supply components, signal capacitors upgrade, and bypassing the unused internal circuit for more clearer yet natural sound quality. This upgrade make a lot improvement compare to the first time I listen from it and I can really enjoy what the designer from each manufacture deliver the sound they would like to perform in those units. Those said units are categorized as a parts of hi-end audio system and I really now familiar with the sound signature from each of them. But to be honest, I am not satisfy yet with this condition. Because none of them is built by myself from ground up. ...
